Hévíz is noted for its famous thermal and medicinal waters, Balatonfűred is increasingly becoming a major tourist centre at Lake Balaton, with excellent facilities for families and the elderly alike. It has a fine harbour and yachting marina. Siófok, is the centre for young people with a variety of entertainment options until the early hours of the morning and excellent beaches to sleep off the night before during the day! Keszthely, is acknowledged as the capital of Lake Balaton and is indeed its oldest city.

Around the lake there are many excellent hotels, both large and small, and numerous apartments, some refurbished to a high standard! The whole region has many excellent vineyards to sample the local produce.  There are also a number of major sporting events taking place at various times of the year. All-in-all, a place
not to be missed!
